Talk 1: Comprehensive profiling of tumour heterogeneity and its microenvironment in advanced non-small cell lung cancer at single cell resolution.

In this first section, Prof. Margarete Odenthal walks us through some background information on how cancer is developed, and what are the survival rates, more specifically for lung cancer, moving on to intra-homotumoral heterogeneity, analysis of cancer epithelial cells, and tumour analysis using single cell sequencing.

Prof. Margarete Odenthal; Head of the Laboratory of Translational Research at the Institute for Pathology, University of Cologne

From 1999 to 2001, she was CEO of the Santron AG. Since 2011, she is the head of the “Laboratory of Translational Pathology” at University of Cologne. Her main scientific focus is the function of cellular and cell-free miRNA as biomarkers and as putative targets for novel treatment strategies of liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. She has published more than 100 articles and four patent applications.
