What does it mean if I see an unexpected fragment profile, or unexpected peaks (e.g., primer dimers, RBC, etc.)?Home FAQ QC criteria cDNA QC criteria What does it mean if I see an unexpected fragment profile, or unexpected peaks (e.g., primer dimers, RBC, etc.)?There are some cases where we will observe unexpected fragments in the cDNA suspension:Small and sharp fragments might indicate primer dimers and might be removed doing further purification using AmPure beads.Sharp peaks around 700bp might indicate RBC contamination, and this will be considered in the sequencing and data analysis. Alternatively, if the viability was suboptimal those peaks might indicate high mitochondrial content.
